‘Despite it all (there was love)’, 2024, Film with Audio 6 minutes 5 seconds

Despite It All (There was love) was a project further exploring themes touched upon in Moral Panic, of attempting to find safety, peace, and joy during times when the human rights of minorities are being threatened by the intersection of politics and media discourse. In this film, the achievement of existing, and loving in spite of the narratives that appear in discriminative media is celebrated, contrasting the suffering that is promoted by the rhetoric of public figures, within lived realities of minority bodies, especially regarding queerness.
This film will premier in the Reading School of Art Degree Show, May 2024.
